It was a good time at Asheville Park, where fans came to watch the Chesapeake Continentals and Asheville Highlanders get after it.

Behind a solid performance from second baseman Víctor Hernández, the Asheville Highlanders defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 7-5. Hernández went 2 for 5 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Highlanders. The Continentals fall to 8-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2029 season.

Hernández had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from Juan Costello, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Highlanders a 6-5 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Hernández.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hernández said.
