Rails Come Up Short at Mercer Island
Starting pitcher Esteban Miroz pitched well enough to help the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Richland Rails by the score of 5-4. The winning pitcher was Miroz, now 1-2. He tossed 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. The defending champion Screaming Eagles have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 5-6 with the win.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, left fielder Jacob Herman came through big-time for the Screaming Eagles. With Mercer Island leading 4-1, he belted a solo home run.

"Feels good to get the job done," Herman said after the game.
