Screaming Eagles Knock Off Rails at Mercer Island Grounds
In a low-scoring affair between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and the Richland Rails, pitcher Raúl Moreno was the difference between victory and defeat. The Mercer Island right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 Screaming Eagles win. The winner was Mercer Island reliever Luis Ochoa, now 1-2. The loser was Bart Gresham. The defending champion Screaming Eagles are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 4th win in 10 games.

In the bottom of the 7th, first baseman Omer Yurtseven gave Mercer Island the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Screaming Eagles had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out double off Richland pitcher Bart Gresham changed that -- and Mercer Island went on to win.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Moreno.
