Jersey City Hot Streak Continues with 6-4 Win
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves got a superb performance from pitcher Ray Davis. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Jersey City. The Tritons won the game, 6-4. In spite of the loss, Davis was named the player of the game. He came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters . The first-place Tritons, at 66-34, now lead their division by 8 games.
In the top of the second, Colt Gridley hit a 2-run double for Jersey City. The 2nd double of the season for the Jersey City left fielder put the Tritons on top, 2-1.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Gridley.
