Hotspur Reserves Throttle BC, 5-1
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves got a stellar performance from pitcher Bob Cook, who handcuffed the Houston offense en route to a 5-1 win at Thunderbirds Stadium. Cook, now 2-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Even with the win, the Hotspur Reserves have a dismal 25-50 record.

In the bottom of the first, Harumi Takaki hit a 2-run home run for Phoenix. The 12th home run of the season for the Phoenix first baseman put the Hotspur Reserves on top, 2-0.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cook told the Phoenix Herald.
