BC Get Past Jersey City for 3-2 Win
|
The Houston BC got a good effort from starter Arnout Els in defeating the Jersey City Tritons at Houston Park. The final score was 3-2. Houston reliever William DeWitt picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Anthony Ledesma was saddled with the loss. After today's action, Houston sits at 24-48, while Jersey City falls to 44-28.
Alfonso Bocanegra was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the BC right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Houston manager Glenn Boyer said.
