Rocks Stay Hot, Beat Nobles

Plymouth and Bakersfield met at Jerome Grounds in front of a lively crowd.
The Plymouth Rocks picked up a win at Jerome Grounds, knocking off the Bakersfield Nobles, 4-1. On the mound for Plymouth was left-hander Zalontae Hillary, who played a pivotal role in the win. Jamel Rhoads got the save, the 6th for him this season.
Livermore, California-born Arnold Griffith came through in the clutch. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Rocks trailing 1-0, he hit a bases-clearing double to right-center to put Plymouth on top.
"I like to lead by example," said Griffith. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
Plymouth has now won 5 straight.
