|
Royse City starter Júlio Martínez had a strong outing against the Gryfindor Braves at Cayuse Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. Martínez, now 3-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Manuel Franco was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when designated hitter José Vargas, who is rated as the 81st best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Targaryens went on to win.
"I felt good up there," said Vargas. "I saw the ball well."
