Battlekings Win in Extras
|
The Naperville Battlekings eked out a 4-3 win versus the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves at Thunderbirds Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Dan Crowder, who captured player of the game honors. Naperville reliever Kris Ross was the winner. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was Raúl Gonzáles. After today's action, Naperville sits at 22-13, while Phoenix falls to 12-23.
The most important at-bat for Naperville came in the top of the 11th inning. With two out, Roberto Veliz reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run, putting Naperville up, 4-3.
"There's no quit in this team," said Battlekings manager Mark Harrison.
