The Royse City Targaryens beat the Houston BC, 6-3, at Royse City Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Bruce Ingilby, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Doug Freeth was the winner. Over 8 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Juan Cruz picked up the save for Royse City, his 1st of the year.
Terrence Eler delivered a big hit for the Targaryens. The veteran first baseman belted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. The longball put Royse City on top, 6-2. Overall, Eler went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Ingilby.
The Targaryens, now 4-12, have not found much traction so far in 2029.
