Multi-HR Day for Sakata as Nobles Overpower Hotspur Reserves, 19-5
|
A 8-RBI performance from designated hitter Sotaro Sakata, who is tied for 6th in the PAAA in runs scored with 13, led the Bakersfield Nobles to a 19-5 win over the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves. Fernando Torrez got the win, improving to 1-2. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The Hotspur Reserves, now 4-11, continue their poor start.
Sakata contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Bakersfield in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Sakata took a fastball from Ricardo Sánchez and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Nobles to leap in front, 4-1.
"Feels good to get the job done," Sakata said after the game.
