Masson, Buzz Too Much for Braves
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz topped the Gryfindor Braves by the score of 5-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Jérôme Masson. Masson was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Buzz on the day. Luis Bejarano picked up the save, his 6th. The Buzz, now 10-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Masson contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Salt Lake City in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Masson took a fastball from Fred Gunther and stroked the double to right. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Buzz to leap in front, 2-1.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Masson told the Salt Lake City Daily.
