Owen 3-3, Jets Move to 5-1
|
The Kennesaw Jets stymied the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 5-2, at Jets Stadium. Alfred Owen, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Kennesaw. Osiris St. Brown was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 12 strikeouts. Kennesaw, now 5-1, has played well in the early going.
Owen had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Jets went on to win.
"It feels good to get this one," Owen told the Kennesaw Daily.
