Herons Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Seawolves

Glendale Herons starter Yoriyoshi Yoshimura was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Long Island Seawolves, 6-3. Yoshimura, the winner, moves to 7-5. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 4 walks. Víctor Torres notched his 8th save in 10 chances.
Yun-qi Chien had a big run-scoring single for the Herons in the top of the sixth inning. With Glendale leading 4-3 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Winston Wenham and stroked the single to center. It was his 100th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Herons ahead, 5-3.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Yoshimura.
The Herons saw their win-loss record go to 49-49. At the same time, the Seawolves fell to 43-55.
