The Glendale Herons beat the Springfield Shooters, 8-3, at Springfield Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Restin P. Surambe, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. Glendale is now 44-45.

Brett Robinson delivered a big hit for the Herons. The veteran right fielder belted a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth. The longball put Glendale on top, 8-0. Overall, Robinson was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

"We did a lot of things right," said Surambe.
