Billings withstood an impressive performance by Glendale right fielder Restin P. Surambe to defeat the Herons, 9-6, at Heron Field. Surambe went 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Billings currently is in 7th place in the Menard's AA at 43-43.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out, Juan Rico hit a 1-1 sinker from Salvador Torres for a run-scoring single. It put Billings in front, 7-6.
In postgame comments, Rico said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
