The Springfield Shooters defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 3-1, in M3L Double A action at Atoms Field, with Springfield pitcher Song-saeng Kim named player of the game. Fred Pitts was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 8 save opportunities. Springfield has now won 3 straight, while the Atoms have lost 3 in a row.
In the top of the ninth inning, first baseman Lee Charles came through big-time for the Shooters. With Springfield leading 2-1, he belted a solo home run.
