Hotspur Reserves Continue Skid Thanks to Sandoval, BC
|
Ismael Sandoval added some punch to the Houston offense, helping them outmuscle the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 12-7. In the game, Sandoval, who is rated as the 63rd best prospect by BNN, went 4-5 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Arnout Els earned the win for Houston. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 7 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Ismael Padilla earned the save, his 1st.
Sandoval had a key at-bat for Houston early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and gave Houston an early 1-0 lead.
Sandoval told the Houston Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
Houston, now 4-6, is off to a slow start.
