Drummers Come Up Short at Port Royal
|
Port Royal shortstop António Quintero made his presence felt in the 7-6 Disaster triumph over the Tortolita Drummers. Quintero went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Miguel Hernández was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. The save was credited to Will Moore, his 18th.
Mark Melton, who is tied for 4th in the SAAA in bases on balls with 62, helped out the Port Royal cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Quintero said.
The slumping Drummers have lost 6 straight.
