The Tortolita Drummers had to overcome a big game from Scranton first baseman Chase Popoff to leave Nuclear Stadium with a 4-3 victory. Popoff was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Briggs Bourgeois was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 28 save opportunities. Tortolita is now 44-32.

Had Yoshihito Saikawa not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Saikawa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Drummers.

Saikawa told a Tortolita Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
