Pond Rips Alaskan for 5 Hits
|
Supernovas center fielder Senior Pond had his way with Alaskan pitching today at Nuclear Stadium and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Humpbacks ruined his great day by toppling the Supernovas, 10-6.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Alaskan credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Pond did today," Humpbacks skipper Karim Moulin said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Senior Pond singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Pond is hitting .397 so far this season with 8 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 23 hits including no home runs, 8 walks and .471 OBP.
