Drummers Get Close Win Over Supernovas
Jesús Martínez added some punch to the Tortolita offense, helping them outmuscle the Scranton Supernovas, 9-8. In the game, Martínez, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in hits with 63, went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tortolita reliever Pedro Figueroa got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Bill Tugwell was tagged with the loss. Tortolita, at 34-21, occupies second place in the Silver AAA.

Tortolita grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Ricardo Pacheco delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 9-8 in favor of the Drummers.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Martínez. "And not try to do too much."
