Halberds Get Road Win, 3-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Alloway Halberds got the win.
The Halberds faced a stiff challenge from Pure Michigan pitcher Ryan Bentley, but persevered to claim a win at Lansing Park. The final score was 3-2. Bentley went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Francisco García picked up the save, his 1st.
In the top of the third, Jerry Yates hit a 2-run home run for Alloway. The 7th home run of the season for the Alloway catcher put the Halberds on top, 3-2.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Yates said.
Even with the win, the Halberds have a dismal 18-35 record.
