Lake Monsters Fall to .500 After Loss to Supernovas
|
The Scranton Supernovas defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-3, in USSL Triple A action at Nuclear Stadium, with Scranton pitcher Pedro Rodríguez named player of the game. Apollo Cepeda earned the save for Scranton, his 3rd of the year. The Lake Monsters, now 26-26, have lost 4 in a row.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when designated hitter Felipe Bruno, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in runs scored with 32, hit a 2-run single. The Supernovas went on to win.
"We did enough to win," said Bruno.
