|
Port Royal played host to Pure Michigan at the friendly confines of Ballpark of Port Royal.
Port Royal starter Félix Jiménez put a stranglehold on the Pure Michigan offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Disaster to a 11-0 win. Jiménez, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Joe Griffin earned the save for Port Royal, his 3rd of the year.
Marvin Hunter, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in RBI with 35, aided the Port Royal cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Jiménez said after the game.
Port Royal occupies 7th place in the Silver AAA at 24-27.
