Drummers Jolt Lake Monsters with Late Rally
The Tortolita Drummers picked up a win at Drummers Ballpark, knocking off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-3. Starting pitcher Robbie Betchley played a key role in the triumph. Tortolita reliever Pedro Figueroa picked up the win to move to 3-0. Bryan Boyd suffered the loss. Tortolita is now 26-15, Vermont 21-20.

Had Steve Costillo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Costillo hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Drummers.

"It's a mindset," said Betchley. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
