Thrilling Victory Pushes Drummers Win Streak to 6
|
Benefiting from Tung Ji's productive game, the Tortolita Drummers downed the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-3. Ji was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI for the Drummers. Briggs Bourgeois got credit for the save for Tortolita. It was his 8th of the year. The Drummers, now 13-5, have been on fire in the early going.
Ji had a game-changing single in the top of the eighth. On a full count sinker from Alejandro López, he banged a 2-run single to left, giving the Drummers a 5-3 lead. It was the 12th hit of the year for Ji.
Ji attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
