Scranton shortstop Michael Walker had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-7, to Port Royal at Ballpark of Port Royal. Walker was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Miguel Hernández got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. Had Javier Martínez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Martínez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 9-7, in favor of the Disaster.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Port Royal manager Bobby Robinson.
