Halberds Turn Back Scranton, 4-2

The Alloway Halberds beat the Scranton Supernovas, 4-2, at Nuclear Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Phil MacNamara, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bob Browning picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Pedro Rodríguez was tagged with the loss. Kenete Daku picked up the save, his 1st.
MacNamara had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Halberds went on to win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said MacNamara, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Alloway, now 2-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
