Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Miguel Rodríguez, the Plymouth Rocks defeated the Royse City Targaryens, 8-5. Rodríguez went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Rocks. Plymouth reliever Roberto Aguirre picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Doug Freeth shouldered the loss. Earning his 1st save for Plymouth was Jamel Rhoads.

Had Arnold Griffith not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Griffith hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Rocks.

"It was a solid team effort," said Rodríguez after the game.

The win takes Plymouth to 1-1.
