Buzz Drop Hotspur Reserves, 5-1
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz got their 2029 season off and running with a win over the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves at Spirits Stadium. The final score was 5-1. Salt Lake City pitcher Brian Morris was named player of the game. The winning pitcher was Morris, now 1-0. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4.
Salt Lake City took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Justin MacPherson stroked a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Buzz.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Morris. "Successful pitchers do it."
