Blue Sox Topple Hot N Readys with Late Rally
|
Little Caesars got a terrific performance from pitcher Iván Gonzáles, but it wasn't enough to beat the Irving Blue Sox. Irving won the Blue Sox Ballpark contest, 5-4. Gonzáles was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters . The win was credited to Rich McLean in relief. His record improves to 5-6. Iván Gonzáles took the loss. Irving has now won 3 in a row.
Manny Gonzáles was the walk-off hero for Irving. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Sox pinch hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"We found a way to get it done," Gonzáles said.
