O'Herlihy Slugs Fur Traders to 8-5 Win
|
With designated hitter Trevor O'Herlihy leading the charge, the Tacoma Fur Traders defeated the Westwood Sixshooters, 8-5, at Ballpark of Tacoma. O'Herlihy, who is tied for 8th in the SAA with a .514 slugging percentage, went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Luis Castrejón picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-5. He struck out 2 in 7.1 innings. The save was credited to Trevor Brohard, his 12th.
The Fur Traders got a lift from second baseman Chad Silander who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth inning off Antoine Ayuso. It was his 40th RBI of the season and put Tacoma in front, 6-5.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Silander.
Tacoma currently is in 8th place in the Silver AA at 37-48.
