Rapiers Shut Out Sixshooters
|
The Durham Rapiers got a strong performance from pitcher Lance de Valk, who stymied the Westwood offense en route to a 1-0 win at Sixshooters Stadium. Quinton Richards got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances. The Rapiers bumped their record to 44-40 with this latest triumph.
The Rapiers got a big at-bat from first baseman Vincent Klein. For the game, Klein was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Durham a 1-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Klein told reporters after the game.
