The Minnesota Loons got a stellar effort from pitcher Andrew Moody, helping Minnesota score a 4-2 win over the visiting Lancaster Farmers. Moody went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-4. Aubrey McCrimmon earned the save for Minnesota, his 1st of the year.
In the bottom of the first, José Mercado hit a 2-run home run for Minnesota. The 11th home run of the season for the Minnesota designated hitter put the Loons on top, 2-1.
After the game, Minnesota manager Luis Rea applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Minnesota is now 41-31.
