Irving played host to Atlantic City at the friendly confines of Blue Sox Ballpark.
The inspired effort of Atlantic City third baseman Alejandro Sánchez was not enough to prevent a 6-4 loss to the Irving Blue Sox. Sánchez was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The save was credited to Rich McLean, his 10th.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Carlos Ramírez, who is tied for 10th in the SAA in stolen bases with 16, reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run. The Blue Sox went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Irving manager John Parkinson.
Irving, at 30-37, occupies 9th place in the Silver AA.
