Hot N Readys Stymie Lancaster, Take 2-1 Win
|
The Little Caesars Hot N Readys picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 2-1. Starting pitcher Leif Mayer, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Andrei-Luiz Frial was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 11 save opportunities. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Little Caesars.
Little Caesars right fielder Josh Platt changed the complexion of the game in the top of the seventh inning. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Mike Brandner. His 6th home run of the season put Little Caesars in front, 2-1.
"The old adage is true," said Platt. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
