|
Westwood Sixshooters starter Chet Saks turned in an exceptional performance against the Atlantic City Sonics at Sonics Ballpark, resulting in a Westwood win, 4-2. Saks got the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Saks allowed 2 earned runs. Alfonso Santa Maria was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 22 save opportunities.
The most important at-bat for Westwood came in the top of the ninth inning, when first baseman Jesús Rodríguez stroked a full count fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Westwood up, 3-2.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Rodríguez told the Westwood Today.
The Sixshooters improved to 29-31.
