Blue Sox Come Up Short at Durham
Both teams had their chances, but the Durham Rapiers eventually prevailed at Rapiers Ballpark.

The Durham Rapiers topped the Irving Blue Sox, 5-4, in USSL Double A action at Rapiers Ballpark. The player of the game was Durham pitcher Andy Fallon. Durham reliever Quinton Richards picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Marcos Sarmiento was saddled with the loss.

The Rapiers got a big at-bat from right fielder Alberto Garza. For the game, Garza was 1-4 with a walk. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave Durham a 5-4 lead.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Garza.
