Sonics Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Lancaster
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Karl Blanke, the Atlantic City Sonics defeated the Lancaster Farmers, 8-4. Blanke was 3 for 5 with 3 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Sonics. Norberto Concepción, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 6.2 innings. Rudy Byrd earned the save, his 10th.
Blanke had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Terence Pasamonte, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Sonics a 5-3 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Blanke.
"I felt good up there," said Blanke. "I saw the ball well."
Lancaster's current losing streak is now 5 games.
