Irving Blue Sox starter Don Blessing was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Tacoma Fur Traders, 4-2. Rich McLean closed the door for Irving, picking up his 4th save of the year. Irving is now 12-10.
Had Lúcio Gonzáles not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Gonzáles hit a run-scoring triple. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blue Sox.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Blessing.
