Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Fur Traders
|
Despite a great performance by Atlantic City third baseman Cristián Alfonso, the Tacoma Fur Traders defeated the Sonics by the score of 5-4 at Ballpark of Tacoma. Alfonso was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tacoma reliever Jeff Pearce picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Alfredo Muńóz absorbed the loss. With the win, Tacoma pushes its record to 8-7.
Jason Alston was the walk-off hero for Tacoma. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fur Traders shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It feels good to get that win," said Alston. "Now it's on to the next one."
