Sixshooters Win at Lancaster, 4-1
|
Westwood and Lancaster duked it out at Farmers Field and the Sixshooters came out victorious.
The Westwood Sixshooters went home winners at Farmers Field, thanks in large part to starter Masaharu Sakata. Sakata silenced the Lancaster Farmers, enabling Westwood to grab the 4-1 win. Sakata got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 10 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Sakata allowed no earned runs. Alfonso Santa Maria picked up the save, his 1st.
Bob Daugherty, who is rated as the 70th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Westwood cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll savor this win," Sakata told the Westwood Today, "then get ready for the next game."
The win pushes Westwood to a record of 1-1.
