Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Dodos
|
Ellenburg first baseman José Vázquez had a good game, even if his team did not. The Fighting Dachsunds dropped a 6-5 decision to Hialeah at Dodos Ballpark. Vázquez went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Hialeah reliever Olegário Pa picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Vincent Bannon was collared with the loss. Hialeah is now 56-43, while Ellenburg is 48-51.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Hialeah designated hitter Javier Gonzáles, facing Vincent Bannon, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Dodos the 6-5 win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Gonzáles said.
