Longnecks Win Again, Extend Streak to 9
|
Bloomington right fielder Benedict Patel was instrumental in his team's 11-4 win over the Brinkley Belugas. Patel, who is rated as the 72nd best prospect by BNN, went 3-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Longnecks. The winning continues for Bloomington, with the latest making it 9 straight.
Gabriel Díaz had a big 2-run single for the Longnecks in the bottom of the second inning. With Bloomington leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Carlos Peret and stroked the single to right. It was his 73rd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Longnecks ahead, 4-1.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Patel.
