Flyers Clip Belugas in Tight Contest
|
A 3-RBI performance from Artie Miller, who is tied for 9th in the 3AAA with a .474 slugging percentage, helped the Pennsauken Flyers beat the Brinkley Belugas, 6-4. Manny Hernández got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. Pennsauken, at 39-54, occupies 10th place in the Menard's AAA.
Had Javier Antonio not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Antonio hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Flyers.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Miller.
