Men Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Florida Men did just enough to sneak past the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 4-3, at The Bamboo Forest. Florida pitcher Henry Yates earned player of the game honors. Florida reliever Earl Simmons picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-2. Gunner Hardy was collared with the loss. The Men now have a record of 35-55 with the win over Sioux Falls.
It could have been a different outcome for Florida, had it not been for Tim Fowler, the 29-year old shortstop . Fowler contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 14th inning to put Florida up, 4-3.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Yates said.
