Doubledays Squelch Red Pandas Offense in Shutout Win
|
Tremont right-hander Min-gook Chong pitched his team to victory over the Sioux Falls Red Pandas at Doubledays Stadium. The final score was 3-0. The Doubledays saw their win-loss record go to 35-49. At the same time, the Red Pandas fell to 44-40.
Denis Jerningham went 1 for 3 with a walk for Tremont. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Andy Coker. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Jerningham said after the game.
