Longnecks Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Flyers
|
A 3-RBI performance from left fielder Eddie Ménard, who is tied for 9th in the 3AAA in hits with 90, led the Bloomington Longnecks to a 7-5 win over the Pennsauken Flyers. Antonio Godfrey, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Leroy Picot earned the save for Bloomington, his 4th.
The most important at-bat for Bloomington came in the top of the ninth inning, when catcher Toussiant L'Ouverture stroked a 1-1 fastball to right-center for a run-scoring single, putting Bloomington up, 6-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Bloomington manager John Muńóz.
Bloomington leads the Menard's AAA by 6˝ games.
