Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Flyers
|
The Pennsauken Flyers did just enough to secure a 1-0 victory over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds at Pennsauken Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Robby McDonald, who captured player of the game honors. Pennsauken reliever Holden Rosen Grupp picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. José Macías was saddled with the loss. Pennsauken, at 32-46, sits in 11th place in the Menard's AAA.
Pennsauken's win came gift-wrapped. With one out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Clarence Therrien reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," McDonald told the Pennsauken Citizen.
